Terms of Service

What this is

SightScript analyses videos you submit and produces written documents from them. By using it you agree to these terms.

The service is operated by SightScript, operated as a sole proprietorship in Canada.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. One person or organisation per account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.

What you may submit

Only videos you own or have the right to process. You must not submit content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that you are contractually or legally barred from sending to a third-party processor.

You keep all rights in the videos you submit and in the documents produced from them. We claim no ownership of either, and we do not use your content to train anything.

Accuracy: please read this one

The documents are generated by an AI model and will contain mistakes. Timestamps can be approximate. Content shown on screen may be misread. Summaries may omit or misstate things.

Where accuracy is critical the product avoids inventing content rather than guessing: scripture is quoted from a fixed public-domain text rather than written by the model, and timestamps are checked against the video's own captions where they exist. That reduces error; it does not eliminate it.

Do not rely on the output for anything consequential (legal, medical, financial, safety, or compliance) without checking it against the source video. You are responsible for verifying anything you publish or act on.

Plans, billing and cancellation

The free tier and the anonymous trial are provided at no cost, with usage limits that are shown in the app and may change.

Pro is a monthly subscription billed through Stripe. It renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your dashboard; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.

We do not offer automatic refunds for partial periods, but if something has gone wrong, write to us; we would rather sort it out than argue about it.

If prices change, existing subscribers will be told before the change applies to them.

Limits and fair use

Each plan carries limits on how many videos you can process and how long they may be. Processing costs real money per run, so we reserve the right to throttle or suspend usage that is automated, abusive, or clearly outside normal individual use.

Please do not attempt to bypass the limits, probe the service for vulnerabilities without telling us, or resell access.

Availability

This is a small, independently run service. It depends on third parties, chiefly Google's Gemini API, and may be unavailable, slow, or degraded at times. There is no uptime guarantee.

A run that fails before producing anything does not count against your quota. A run that produces a partial result does, because the processing has already been paid for upstream. A video longer than your plan's base length (45 minutes on Free, 80 on Pro) counts as two videos against the monthly allowance; when only part of such a run fails, only the failed part's share is returned.

Liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, which, on the free tier, is nothing.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using the service and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will explain why unless we are prevented from doing so.

If the service is discontinued, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your documents.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
